Pengetahuan Dan Sikap Remaja Putri Kelas Viii Tentang Personal Hygiene Saat Menstruasi Di UPT SMP Negeri Satap 3 Makale Selatan

Abstract

Adolescence is a transitional period from childhood to adulthood. This period is so rapidly experiencing growth and development both physically and mentally. Adolescent girls who have matured reproductive organs and hormones in their bodies will experience menstruation. Hygiene must be considered because it will affect a person's health and psychology, especially during menstruation. The phenomenon that occurs in adolescent girls is still found to be lazy to maintain hygiene during menstruation. The purpose of this study was to determine the knowledge of adolescent girls about personal hygiene during menstruation. The research method used is a quantitative method descriptive approach with a design using sampling techniques. Data collection using questionnaires. The research was conducted at UPT SMP Negeri Satap 3 Makale Selatan Class VIII. This research was conducted on Monday, April 08, 2024. The population in the study were all class VIII UPT SMP Negeri Satap 3 Makale Selatan students totaling 30 students. The sample amounted to 30 female students. The results showed that adolescent girls with good knowledge amounted to 21 students (70.00%), those with sufficient knowledge amounted to 7 students (23.33%) and less amounted to 2 students (6.67%). Respondents have sufficient and good attitudes about personal hygiene during menstruation because aged 14 to 16 years are at the stage of understanding, which can be interpreted as an ability to explain correctly about known objects, and can interpret the material correctly. It is recommended that schools through the school health unit can collaborate with the health team to provide health education about reproductive health, especially personal hygiene during menstruation and for researchers to further develop further research related to different variables.
