Abstract

The aim of this research is to improve student learning outcomes in linear programming material using the Problem Based Learning learning model. The research was conducted on students in class XI Science 1 SMA Negeri 7 Medan. The method used in this research is Classroom Action Research. The number of students in the experimental group was 36. This research required 2 cycles to achieve student completeness scores. Each cycle consists of 2 meetings. Data is collected using essay tests at the end of each cycle and observation sheets. Data were analyzed using quantitative and qualitative analysis. The research results showed that student completion in cycle I was 77.7%. Meanwhile, student completion in cycle II was 86.1% of the total students. Thus it can be concluded that student learning outcomes have increased by 8.4% using the Problem Based Learning learning model
